  • Lightweight plaster mixes based on volcanic tuff-scoria

The composition of the lightweight plaster mix includes the following components: hydraulic binder, crushed volcanic tuff-scoria (as a fine lightweight filler), reinforcing fiber and synthetic additive. The hydraulic binder consists of Portland cement and finely ground volcanic tuff. Plaster mixes based on volcanic tuff are in demand in regions with a warm or sharply continental climate: high temperatures during the day or low at night, including Ethiopia. The purpose of the research presented in the article was: to form material structure models that allow evaluating the material properties and evaluating the solutions obtained during the implementation of an active experiment. As a result of the experiment, optimal values of the main components of the plaster mix based on volcanic tuff were established, which is present in the mixture as a light fine filler and as a component of the hydraulic binder. Modeling of the material structure and engineering interpretation of its properties were carried out.

  • Organizational and technological solutions for eliminating cracks in reinforced concrete foundation slabs

In order to negate the loss of strength, that can lead to collapse of constructions, we should take measures to prevent cracking. Every crack emersion in reinforced concrete indicates that the accumulated stress has been released in this area of the structure. The cause of cracks are internal tensile stresses that can occur due to internal processes in the element and from external loads on the structure. It is possible to eliminate cracks that have already appeared with the help of repair compounds that fill the volume of cracks in various ways. Injection, as one of the solutions, will help to maintain the strength and durability of the structure.

  • Factors influencing the energy efficiency of modern high-rise buildings in the city of Vladivostok

This article is devoted to the analysis of factors influencing the energy efficiency of high-rise buildings. Using the example of the Aquamarine residential complex in the city of Vladivostok, an analysis of high-rise buildings was carried out, calculations were performed, and the results were presented in the form of graphs that reflect the dynamics of the speed of wind flows and temperature changes in the outside air along the height of the building. Changes in these parameters increase the intensity of heat loss, which must be taken into account when developing a space-planning solution and thermal protection of the facades of high-rise buildings.

  • The analysis of heat-shielding properties of curtain wall facade systems of multi-storey residential buildings in Moscow

The article analyzes the heat-shielding properties of typical curtain-type ventilated façade (hereinafter referred to as CVF) systems used on multi-storey residential buildings in Moscow. We conducted analytical and visual studies, evaluated the technical condition by external features, including photographing the detected defects, thermographic scanning of facades, and took selective measurements of external geometric parameters, distortions, and structural properties for 18 objects in the city of Moscow. The level of defects in the thermal insulation layer at Moscow facilities was at least 50%. A gap of 10 mm at the joint of insulation slabs reduces the heat-shielding properties of the CVF fragment of the outer wall by 14.5–15%. The conclusions were drawn on the basis of the results of calculations of the reduced heat transfer resistance of a total of 18 CVF options from two manufacturers of the Kaptekhnostroy (aluminum CVFS subsystem) and Alfa-Prof (galvanized CVF subsystem) systems. When comparing these solutions, it is obvious that they are all inferior in value reduced resistance to heat transfer of the composite facade thermal insulation system. If the foundation is made of monolithic reinforced concrete or brickwork, the choice of finishing material does not matter. Moreover, the indicators of the reduced heat transfer resistance do not differ significantly. In the case of a base made of expanded clay concrete blocks, the galvanized steel subsystem is 2.9% (ceramic granite), 4.3% (fiber cement) and 4.6% (composite) more efficient.

  • Analysis of a typical planning solution on the example of a 2-room apartment in Moscow

The aim of the work was to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of a typical 2-room apartment and find the optimal solution for redevelopment. As an example, we selected a typical planning solution from the developer of a two-room apartment in a multi-storey residential building. The article considers a variant of apartment remodeling in order to improve the housing characteristics of the premises. It is concluded that the typical rational solution for reconstruction is the reorganization of auxiliary premises in favor of residential premises, changing their configurations. The logic of applying the principles of free planning is reduced to creating conditions for comfortable spatial interaction of functional zones.

  • Intensification of the natural water purification process using the flocculant

The article discusses the issues of increasing the efficiency and reliability of the water supply system on the example of gravity water treatment plants. In this study, some of the measures for the reconstruction of structures on the daily regulation pools and introduced new technologies for water purification are considered. The use of a new technology has been studied, which involves the use of local coagulants in the form of aluminum sulfate together with a high-molecular synthetic anionic flocculant of the «POLY SEPAR AN 34 TW» type and clarification of water in sedimentation tanks equipped with horizontal thin-layer modules. As a result of the study, it was identified that the use of anionic flocculant of the «POLY SEPAR AN 34 TW» type, which has a flocculating and disinfecting ability in water treatment processes, is highly effective. Moreover, the use of a flocculant of the «Poly Separ» type for surface water purification at a dose of 0.5 - 1.0 mg/l, along with a decrease in turbidity and color, it ensures the removal of such impurities as iron, heavy metals, a decrease in the total microbial number from 10000 - 1000000 to 100 cells/ml at the filtration stage, since «Poly Separ» has a prolonged bactericidal effect.
